Proposify 3 Is Here: The First Chapter of Your New Proposal Experience

Written by Kyle Racki | May 15, 2025 3:03:59 PM

The day has finally arrived! After countless whiteboard sessions, development sprints, and nuclear-strength cups of coffee, the first phase of Proposify 3 is now live. This isn't just an update – it's the beginning of a completely reimagined document platform.

The Journey to V3: Starting Strong, With More to Come

I want to be transparent about why this rebuild was necessary. We've seen you struggle with editor frustrations when deadlines loom, performance lags during crucial presentations, and mysterious formatting issues at the worst possible moments.

Every support ticket, feature request, and candid (sometimes cranky) feedback email shaped our vision for V3. When faced with the choice between patching our existing system or completely reimagining what proposal software could be, we chose the more challenging but ultimately more rewarding path. You and your deals deserve nothing less than excellence.

Rebuilding Proposify meant starting from scratch with modern architecture and fresh code. Instead of keeping you waiting until every feature was perfectly replicated, we're rolling out improvements in stages. This approach reflects how we operate at Proposify – we believe in forward momentum and continuous improvement.

What you'll experience today delivers substantial upgrades to the core proposal creation and sending experience, with additional enhancements scheduled throughout 2025. Some familiar features from V2 are still in development, but we're confident that the improvements already available will transform how you create, send, and close deals.

What's Waiting for You Right Now in Phase 1

Think of today's release as Season 1 of your favourite new series. We've delivered a powerful opening that stands on its own, but we've got multiple seasons of innovation planned for the months ahead.

If you log into Proposify today, you'll notice the option to migrate your templates to V3. Here's what you'll immediately experience:

  • A completely reimagined document editor that actually plays nice with your content.
  • Auto-alignment guides appear as you're moving items around, making clean layouts ridiculously simple. No more pixel-hunting to get things to line up!
  • Copy and paste that actually works. I know, revolutionary concept, right? But seriously, you can now copy text without sending your formatting into chaos mode. It's the little things that make all the difference.
  • AI-powered spelling and grammar check that catches those embarrassing typos before your prospect (or boss!) does. We've all sent out a proposal and then spotted that glaring error five seconds after hitting send. Those days are over.
  • Flexible pricing tables that adapt to your pricing model instead of forcing you to adapt to our software. Need an extra column for implementation fees? No problem.
  • Templates with AI generation feed your website URL and PDF to the AI and it will create an on-brand template you can use as a starting point and customize further.
  • Streamlined signing process with no email verification for buyers. We've removed friction from the closing process – because every extra step is an opportunity for hesitation.
  • Enhanced document analytics so you know exactly who's looking at what and for how long. No more wondering if your proposal is sitting unread in someone's inbox.

But Wait, What About...?

I can almost hear the questions forming in your mind, so let me address them head-on:

"Is V2 going away?"

Absolutely not! Your existing documents and templates will stay right where they are. Think of this transition like moving to a new house – you can take your time, gradually bringing over what you need while still having access to your old place. If there's a specific feature you're waiting on before fully committing, keep reading – we've got a roadmap for that.

"Will this cost me more?"

No. You can switch to V3 at no additional cost.

"What happens to my templates?"

I’ll be honest -  template migration can be tricky business. We'll do our absolute best to bring everything over intact, but there might be some adjustments needed. If you paid for a custom template and need help with the migration, just email support@proposify.com, and we'll handle the cleanup at no extra cost.

Just the First Phase

This launch is just phase one of the Proposify 3 update. In the coming weeks and months, we'll be rolling out:

  • Custom fields, PDF downloads, recurring fees, line-item discounts, customizable notifications
  • Enhanced content libraries with sections, snippets, images, PDF, and video
  • More integrations and deeper integrations with CRM, invoicing, collaboration, and payment tools
  • Collaborative features, like inline commenting, version control, and multi-author editing
  • For our business plan customers, permissions and approval workflows
  • And much more on our 2025 roadmap

Want early access?

Click on the user profile dropdown and then click "Try Proposify 3"

Your account will now have access to the V3 document list, editor, and content library

To migrate one of your V2 templates to V3, go to the templates section and click on "Migrate to V3"

This should take about a minute. Check the 3.0 Content Library and you'll eventually see a new untitled template.

The migration doesn't yet match your template exactly, it just copies the text, sections, and images.

We're making some improvements in the next week or so that will copy the text styles, section names, and other improvements.

Feel free to play around with V3 for now or wait until we've made improvements to the migration tool.

PS: We'd love to hear your feedback as you start using V3. What's working? What could be better? Your insights will directly shape the future of Proposify – that's not just corporate speak, it's genuinely how we operate.
