So what exactly is a B Corp? Their website explains:
B Corp is to business what Fair Trade certification is to coffee or USDA Organic certification is to milk. B Corps are certified by the nonprofit B Lab to meet rigorous standards of social and environmental performance, accountability, and transparency.
To be certified as a B Corp, you must attain a minimum score, ensuring that your business is focused on planet and people — not just profits. Currently it's recognized in half of the 50 US states.
While registering as a B Corp was a natural progression for Julien and the crew at Organik SEO, the process of getting certified was far from a walk in the park. It involved an intensive interview process over the course of several months, where B Corp reviewed what vendors Organik uses, their legal documentation, along with their ethics, employment and social responsibility practices.
